  • Q I have a Lexus 300 and the AFS light is illuminated - how much will that cost to fix? - Submitted by George F.
  • A This could just be simply that you have inadvertently caught the switch which turns off the Adaptive Frontlight System (AFS). This among other things allows the lights to traverse as you turn the steering wheel and possibly even turn the lights on or off automatically. The switch is located just under the dash on the drivers side. If you have any difficulty finding it just call in...Mike

  • AThe most common fault with this one is that the switch looses sync with the bsi (‘Built-in Systems interface). It is a central controller or interconnection unit that allows the sharing and management of information across the ECU’s fitted to a vehicle. It will need resetting first to see if that will cure the fault... Mike

We service all makes of vehicle, from Minis to Mercedes . Even if you have a new vehicle, we can service it without affecting your manufacturers warranty and we can do so at a fraction of the cost.

Legislation was brought in 2004 as a European directive to give consumers more choice regarding who could carry out servicing on their vehicles and at the same time ensure that the vehicle would still enjoy the benefit of it’s manufacturer’s warranty.

Competent independent garages such as ourselves can now carry out services and repairs to new vehicles without affecting the manufacturer’s warranty as long as the service is carried out to the manufacturer’s schedule using parts and lubricants of appropriate quality and record the service.

When working on newer vehicles we always use parts that are equal in quality or exceed Original Equipment specification, stamp your service book and provide a detailed report of the work we have carried out leaving your car in tip - top condition.

Equally high standards:

Our very highly trained technicians will give you the same exacting level of service, using the same quality or better parts than a dealer, but at a much more competitive price - often up to 50% less than main dealers!
You will get a friendly, courteous welcome when you arrive, and a courtesy car or a lift to help you continue with your day. You can if you wish use our waiting room with tea / coffee facilities and we can even collect and deliver your car back to you if it is more convenient.

Maintaining your warranty:

If we spot anything that needs attention while we're servicing your car, we'll let you know. There'll be no hard sell to get it fixed though. We'll just provide the information so you can decide if and when you want to address the problem. If you have any queries about anything that we've picked up on, we'll be happy to discuss them with you. We can explain what the implications are for your car and the likely costs for repairs or replacements, and will keep all parts for viewing where required. We will also advise if we think that there are any items which should be replaced under warranty.

What information will help us?

It is helpful when booking your vehicle in to let us have:

Your Vehicle Registration Number and approximate mileage.

Clear details of work you think needs doing to your vehicle.

A list of any faults, symptoms that you have noticed - squeaks, knocking noises, grating sounds etc.

On the Day, Please also:

Let us have a telephone number that we can contact you on for that day should we need to.

Let us have your service record book so that we can stamp it when we have completed the service.

Let us know where the locking wheel nut key is. (If you have one)
